Meditation & Guided Meditations
Meditation has been used for thousands of years throughout the world. Studies show strong evidence in the efficacy of using meditation as a daily practice. For most people, it is difficult to meditate without guidance, and suggestions. It is easy to do in the comfort of your home. Select a quiet place, sit still, be patient, and focus on your breath. Meditation will help you to feel more calm, peaceful, reduce stress and help to prevent disease. It will also help you make decisions more clearly, and improve your memory and cognitive function. You will notice being happier, and coping with life’s challenges more easily.
Guided Meditation includes instruction in progressive muscle relaxation, relaxing breaths, and sounds which promote feelings of peace. You will be reminded to stay in the present moment, and any thoughts about the future or the past are to be only observed, without becoming engaged in the past or future. You become aware of the present surroundings, the way your body feels, from your head to the tip of your toes. Meditation cultivates one’s focus of awareness, and a state of complete trust in the process. It’s always returning to a peaceful state of mind.
It is important to stick to a daily meditation practice. Some suggestions are to use an area of your home that is quiet, stick to a schedule, sit comfortably in a chair or on the floor with your back straight. Your legs may be crossed, and your hands rest comfortably along your knees.
